AWSMP Welcomes New Staff

The Ashokan Water­shed Stream Man­age­ment Pro­gram (AWSMP) wel­comes Heather Eckardt to the posi­tion of Sr. Admin­is­tra­tive Assis­tant with our office. Heather comes to the pro­gram with 15 years of office and admin­is­tra­tive expe­ri­ence and a strong inter­est in envi­ron­men­tal con­ser­va­tion. Orig­i­nal­ly from cen­tral Vir­ginia, Heather relo­cat­ed to the Hud­son Val­ley in 2011. She fell in love with the nat­ur­al beau­ty of the area, and enjoys hik­ing, cook­ing, read­ing, and learn­ing about plants in her spare time. She is thrilled to be a part of the AWSMP and she has a par­tic­u­lar inter­est in the pro­tec­tion and restora­tion of aquat­ic and ripar­i­an habi­tats. Heather is cur­rent­ly pur­su­ing a B.S. in Hor­ti­cul­ture at Ore­gon State Uni­ver­si­ty and earned an A.S. in Busi­ness, Man­age­ment, and Eco­nom­ics from SUNY Empire State Col­lege. The next time you call the AWSMP office, you are like­ly to hear Heather’s friend­ly voice on the line – wel­come Heather!
