The Bush Kill Stream Management Plan is now available online for download at: https://ashokanstreams.org/exploring-the-watershed/bushkill/

The Bush Kill Stream Management Plan contains detailed information and recommendations that can help streamside landowners, municipalities, and natural resource managers maintain resilient and healthy streams. The strategies outlined address flooding hazards, streambank erosion, and threats to infrastructure, water quality, and riparian habitat.

A team of staff and interns from the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program, Student Conservation Association, and SUNY Ulster worked together to complete a multi-step process to develop the stream management plan. Town of Olive officials and residents provided valuable background information. Plan development was led by the Ulster County Soil & Water Conservation District with funding from the NYC Department of Environmental Protection.

The Bush Kill Stream Management Plan is being used by the Olive Flood Advisory Committee to help prioritize flood mitigation actions throughout the Bush Kill watershed.
