Conference Speaker Announced

George Fowler, Pro­fes­sion­al Engi­neer at Woidt Engi­neer­ing, will speak at the 2015 Ashokan Water­shed Con­fer­ence about the past, present, and future of stream man­age­ment. His talk Using the Stream­Flux Capac­i­tor to Under­stand the Rivers Future Gen­er­a­tions Will See has fun with this year’s con­fer­ence theme of Back to the Future: Cre­at­ing a New Water­shed Lega­cy. In addi­tion, local his­to­ri­an Bob Steud­ing, author of The Last of the Hand­made Dams: The Sto­ry of the Ashokan Reser­voir will present a his­to­ry of the reser­voir and its lega­cy. Oth­er ses­sions cov­er inva­sive species and a stream expert pan­el to answer audi­ence ques­tions.
