Hamlet Residents Invited to Public Meetings

Posted on: October 7th, 2014 by Leslie_Zucker

Phoenicia and Mt. Tremper residents are invited to attend public meetings to find solutions to flooding in their communities. The Town of Shandaken is launching a flood reduction effort focused specifically on Phoenicia and Mt. Tremper. A range of strategies will be tested for their benefits and feasibility. Residents are asked to bring their ideas for reducing flooding to the public meeting. Residents can also help with identifying chronic areas of flooding in the hamlets.

The consulting firm Milone and MacBroom will combine public knowledge with engineering analysis to determine the causes of flooding and evaluate the identified solutions. The results will be presented at future public meetings. The process focuses on beneficial, feasible, and community supported solutions.

Please come out and help make this a success. Your hamlet is counting on you!
