Subcontractor Approval Policy

All SMIP grant recipients except municipalities must be approved by the City of New York before contract work can commence. The SMIP is funded by New York City through an agreement with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County (CCEUC). New York City reserves the right to determine if the SMIP recipient is a legitimate business or non-profit organization in good standing.

A one-page form must be submitted to New York City. CCEUC will assist the SMIP recipient with obtaining the appropriate forms.

New York City Subcontractor Approval must be obtained for subcontractors to CCEUC in excess of $20,000. SMIP grant recipients are exempt from this requirement.
