Summer Recreation on the River

There is great fun to be had on the riv­er this sum­mer! Four 2014 Eso­pus Creek recre­ation­al water releas­es are sched­uled for: June 7–8, July 19–20, Aug. 30-Sept. 1, and Oct. 4–5. A final deter­mi­na­tion on each event will be made by NYSDEC pri­or to the planned dates based on exist­ing water con­di­tions at the time.

Statewide free fish­ing week­end is June 28–29. Dur­ing the last week­end in June, any­one can fish the Eso­pus Creek or oth­er water­shed streams and no license is required!

The Phoeni­cia Rotary is hold­ing the 25th Annu­al Krazy Quack­er Duck Race on the Stony Clove Creek in Phoeni­cia on Sun­day, July 20.

Begin­ning this Fri­day, May 23rdNYC DEP announced recre­ation­al boat­ing will begin on four of their Catskill reser­voirs: Can­nonsville, Pepacton, Nev­ersink, and Schoharie. The Catskill Water­shed Cor­po­ra­tion and the Water­shed Post are offer­ing a cool patch to those who pad­dle at least one of the four reser­voirs dur­ing cer­tain dates (the patch was pro­duced in Boiceville).

Hold the date of July 27 for Fam­i­ly Fun and Fish Day! For peo­ple of all ages who want to try out fish­ing host­ed by the AWSMP, NYSDEC and Trout Unlim­it­ed. Equip­ment is provided.
