Phoenicia and Mount Tremper Residents to Learn Results of Hamlet LFAs

Posted on: July 29th, 2015 by Brent Gotsch

The Town of Shandaken and the Shandaken Area Flood Assessment and Remediation Initiative (SAFARI) invites Phoenicia and Mount Tremper residents to participate in public meetings to learn about the flood mitigation options that Milone and MacBroom, Inc. (MMI) analyzed based on community recommendations, their ability to reduce flood levels, and their feasibility and funding potential.

Working with SAFARI, MMI performed extensive analysis on flooding problems in these two hamlets and will present their findings on potential mitigation solutions. Thanks to your input from previous meetings, MMI will share a number of scenarios that could potentially reduce flooding in the hamlets and explain which ones they think are the most worthwhile to pursue. Please come out and learn how your efforts are making a difference in your community and support the next phase of the Local Flood Analysis (LFA) process.
