The Town of Olive is set to launch a Local Flood Analysis in 2015. The Town selected consulting firm Woidt Engineering and its subcontractor Atkins Global to provide engineering and planning services. The analysis will focus on actions that reduce flood damages in the hamlets of Boiceville and West Shokan. Boiceville is situated on Route 28 along the Esopus Creek. West Shokan is located near the confluence of the Bushkill with the Ashokan Reservoir. The Town has applied to AWSMP for funding to cover full project costs. Once approved and contracted, the project will begin with field survey and data collection. Project kick-off meetings to gather public input are anticipated for spring.
