Warner Creek Project Nearing Finish

A project to restore water quality and stream stability on Warner Creek (a tributary to Stony Clove Creek) is well underway and should be finished by early August. The project, located just downstream of the Warner Creek Silver Hollow Rd. bridge, aims to stabilize an eroding hill slope that is rich in fine sediments, and prevent further slumping of Silver Hollow Rd.  Stream management techniques include in-stream structures to direct water away from the streambank and slope-grading. The Town of Shandaken sponsored project should offer a long-term solution to instability in this section of Warner Creek.
