Join a Snowshoe Stream Walk

Join us on Saturday, February 4th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for AWSMP’s annual Snowshoe Stream Walk! This event is designed for people of all ability levels and families are welcome. Participants will meet at the NYSDEC Parking Lot for the Rochester Hollow Trail at the end of Matyas Rd in Big Indian, NY.

On this walk we’ll explore a beautiful mountain stream with experienced environmental educators, investigate signs of local wildlife, and discover the importance of protecting our water resources. After a walk through a Catskill Mountain winter wonderland, enjoy warm drinks and snacks around a cozy campfire.

Participants must be at least 7 years of age or older to snowshoe, and children must be accompanied by an adult. Please leave your pets at home. This event is free! Registration is required.

Register at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3Z9P8ZG

Space is limited to the first 15 residents of the Ashokan Watershed who register. Generally, the Ashokan Watershed overlaps the towns of Shandaken, Olive, Woodstock, and Hurley in Ulster County, and Lexington and Hunter in Greene County.

Please contact our office in advance with any accommodation requests by emailing Dani at daw287@cornell.edu or calling 845–688-3047 ext. 100.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County provides equal program and employment opportunities.
