Phoenicia and Mount Tremper Residents to Learn Results of Hamlet LFAs

The Town of Shan­dak­en and the Shan­dak­en Area Flood Assess­ment and Reme­di­a­tion Ini­tia­tive (SAFARI) invites Phoeni­cia and Mount Trem­per res­i­dents to par­tic­i­pate in pub­lic meet­ings to learn about the flood mit­i­ga­tion options that Milone and MacB­room, Inc. (MMI) ana­lyzed based on com­mu­ni­ty rec­om­men­da­tions, their abil­i­ty to reduce flood lev­els, and their fea­si­bil­i­ty and fund­ing potential.

Work­ing with SAFARI, MMI per­formed exten­sive analy­sis on flood­ing prob­lems in these two ham­lets and will present their find­ings on poten­tial mit­i­ga­tion solu­tions. Thanks to your input from pre­vi­ous meet­ings, MMI will share a num­ber of sce­nar­ios that could poten­tial­ly reduce flood­ing in the ham­lets and explain which ones they think are the most worth­while to pur­sue. Please come out and learn how your efforts are mak­ing a dif­fer­ence in your com­mu­ni­ty and sup­port the next phase of the Local Flood Analy­sis (LFA) process.
